CriticalVulnerabilityCVE-2024-4457updated 25 Oct 2026, 15:20 UTC

What happened
Input validation is missing for the configuration of JDBC user stores in the WSO2 Management Console, enabling arbitrary code execution on the server.
Why it is dangerous: A successful attack runs code with the privileges of the WSO2 product, which can mean full compromise of the system and anything it connects to.
Are you affected?
You are affected if you run a WSO2 product with the Management Console exposed and configured with JDBC user stores.
What to do
- Check whether your WSO2 product runs the Management Console and uses JDBC user stores
- Restrict access to the Management Console to trusted networks only until a fix is applied
- Apply the vendor's security update as soon as it is published, then verify the fixed version
