CriticalVulnerabilityCVE-2026-10132updated 25 Oct 2026, 15:22 UTC

How the attack works simplified

  1. 1Attacker with loginNeeds valid authenticated access to the router
  2. 2Crafted HTTP requestSent to the boa web server's formIpQos mac handler
  3. 3Stack buffer overflowOversized input overwrites memory on the stack
  4. 4Code executionAttacker's code runs on the router
  5. ResultAttacker controls the router

What happened

A stack-based buffer overflow in the boa web server's formIpQos mac functionality of the TOTOLINK X2000R allows arbitrary code execution via a crafted authenticated HTTP request.

Why it is dangerous: An attacker who controls the router can monitor or redirect traffic, change settings, and reach devices on the home or office network. Anyone using this router firmware on a network is at risk.

Are you affected?

You are affected if you run TOTOLINK X2000R with firmware TOTOLINK-X2000R-Gh-V1.0.0-B20250421.1327.

TOTOLINK X2000R, firmware TOTOLINK-X2000R-Gh-V1.0.0-B20250421.1327

What to do

  1. Check whether your router runs firmware TOTOLINK-X2000R-Gh-V1.0.0-B20250421.1327 (look in the admin page's system or firmware info).
  2. Check the TOTOLINK website or your vendor for a patched firmware and install it as soon as it is available.
  3. Until a fix is installed, change the router admin password to a strong unique one and turn off remote management if it is enabled.
  4. Restrict access to the router admin page to trusted devices only.
