What happened

IBM Langflow OSS versions 1.0.0 through 1.12.8 contain an improper control of code generation flaw, allowing remote arbitrary code execution.

Why it is dangerous: An attacker who can reach the server could take full control of it, reading or changing data and using it to move further into the network. Anyone running an affected Langflow instance exposed to a network is at risk.

Are you affected?

You are affected if you run IBM Langflow OSS version 1.0.0 through 1.12.8, especially if it is reachable from the internet or untrusted networks.

IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.12.8

What to do

  1. Check whether you run IBM Langflow OSS between 1.0.0 and 1.12.8
  2. Restrict network access to Langflow so it is not exposed to untrusted networks
  3. Check the IBM and GitHub advisories (GHSA-mm82-q33r-3rjw) for a fixed version and install it as soon as available
  4. Review logs for unusual activity on the Langflow server
