What happened
An OS command injection in proxy.php of the built-in CODE Server (richdocumentscode Nextcloud app) allows remote code execution when the CODE server is not running, such as after a restart.
Are you affected?
You are affected if you run the richdocumentscode (Collabora Online built-in CODE Server) Nextcloud app before 26.4.303 and the CODE server is not running, for example after a recent restart.
Collabora Online Built-in CODE Server (richdocumentscode Nextcloud app) before 26.4.303. Standalone Collabora Online servers are not affected.
What to do
- Update the richdocumentscode (Collabora Online built-in CODE Server) app to version 26.4.303 or later
- If you cannot update right away, make sure the CODE server is running, or disable the app until you can patch
- Review your Nextcloud server for signs of compromise, especially if the app was unpatched and the CODE server was restarted
- Limit internet exposure of the Nextcloud instance where possible
