What happened

The Vagabonds theme by ThemeREX Group has an insecure deserialization flaw (object injection, CWE-502): it processes untrusted serialized data without proper checks.

Why it is dangerous: A successful attacker could take control of the affected website or its data. Any site running the vulnerable theme is exposed to this risk, and the CVSS score of 9.8 reflects that severity.

Are you affected?

You are affected if your site runs the Vagabonds theme by ThemeREX Group at version 1.3.10 or earlier.

Vagabonds (ThemeREX Group) theme: all versions up to and including 1.3.10

What to do

  1. Check whether the Vagabonds theme is installed and note its version
  2. Update the theme to a version later than 1.3.10 if one is available from ThemeREX
  3. If no fixed version exists, switch to a different theme or restrict access to the site until a fix is released
