What happened
The axiomthemes Reprizo theme has a deserialization flaw (object injection) where untrusted data is unserialized, allowing attacker-controlled objects to be created. Affected versions are from the start through 1.0.8.
Why it is dangerous: A successful attack can give an outsider control over the website, its data, and possibly the server, and could be used to plant malware or steal visitor information. Site owners and administrators running the theme are at risk.
Are you affected?
You are affected if your website uses the Reprizo theme at version 1.0.8 or earlier.
Reprizo (axiomthemes) theme, all versions through 1.0.8
What to do
- Check whether your site uses the Reprizo theme and which version is installed
- Check the theme vendor or the GitHub advisory for a patched version and update to it as soon as it is released
- If no fix is available, switch to a different theme or restrict access to the site's admin and affected endpoints
- Review the site for unexpected files, users, or changes
