How the attack works simplified

  1. 1Attacker sends requestCrafted HTTP request without logging in
  2. 2WAF is bypassedMisconfigured WAF lets the request through
  3. 3Unvalidated query runsInput is not sanitised before the database query
  4. 4Database is queriedBlind injection extracts structure and records
  5. 5Customer PII exposedSensitive personal information is read
  6. ResultAttacker reads customer personal data

What happened

A Blind SQL Injection flaw in Futurum Software's management software comes from inadequate validation of user inputs in database queries, combined with an incorrect WAF configuration that lets manipulated HTTP requests bypass protections.

Why it is dangerous: An unauthenticated attacker could run arbitrary queries, map the full database structure and access sensitive customer information including personally identifiable information (PII), so customers of Futurum-based deployments are at risk of data exposure.

Are you affected?

You are affected if you run Futurum Software's management software with an exposed private area, where the vulnerable WAF configuration is in place.
