What happened
Legal Stone up to and including version 1.2.11 has an unauthenticated PHP Object Injection flaw, where untrusted input is unsafely deserialized.
Why it is dangerous: An attacker needing no account could potentially execute code, read or change data, or fully compromise the website and its visitors. Sites running the plugin are at risk.
Are you affected?
You are affected if your site runs the Legal Stone plugin at version 1.2.11 or earlier.
Legal Stone <= 1.2.11
What to do
- Check whether Legal Stone is installed and what version it is
- If a version newer than 1.2.11 is available, update the plugin now
- If no fixed version is available, deactivate and remove the plugin until a fix is released
- Review the site for unexpected admin users, files, or changes
