What happened
Unauthenticated PHP Object Injection in the Mission plugin, versions 1.22 and earlier, allows untrusted input to be unserialized into PHP objects.
Why it is dangerous: Successful exploitation can lead to remote code execution, full site takeover, and theft or deletion of data. Anyone who can reach the website is a potential attacker.
Are you affected?
You are affected if you run the Mission plugin version 1.22 or earlier on your WordPress site.
Mission plugin <= 1.22
What to do
- Check whether the Mission plugin is installed and note its version
- Update Mission to a version newer than 1.22 if one is available, or deactivate and remove it
- Check the vendor or the GitHub advisory for an official fix or mitigation
- Review the site for unexpected admin users or files if the plugin was exposed
