What happened

The Avventure product contains an unauthenticated PHP object injection flaw affecting versions up to and including 1.1.12, where untrusted input is unserialized without validation.

Why it is dangerous: An attacker could potentially execute arbitrary code, steal data, or fully control the affected website and server. Any site running the affected version and reachable from the internet is at risk.

Are you affected?

You are affected if you run Avventure version 1.1.12 or earlier.

Avventure <= 1.1.12

What to do

  1. Check whether Avventure is installed and which version it is
  2. Update Avventure to a version newer than 1.1.12 as soon as one is released
  3. If no update is available, disable or remove the Avventure plugin until a fix is published
  4. Review server logs for unusual requests and monitor the site for unauthorized changes
