What happened

The Good Homes plugin for WordPress has an unauthenticated PHP object injection flaw, where untrusted input is unserialized and can be turned into malicious objects. Affected versions are 1.3.13 and earlier.

Why it is dangerous: An attacker with no login could potentially execute code on the server, steal data, or fully take over the website. Sites running this plugin are at risk, especially if they are publicly reachable.

Are you affected?

You are affected if you run the Good Homes WordPress plugin at version 1.3.13 or earlier.

Good Homes WordPress plugin, versions <= 1.3.13

What to do

  1. Check whether the Good Homes plugin is installed and what version it is
  2. Update the plugin to a version newer than 1.3.13 as soon as one is released, or deactivate and remove it if no fix is available
  3. Review the site for signs of compromise if the plugin was exposed while vulnerable
