CriticalVulnerabilityCVE-2026-79851updated 25 Oct 2026, 16:50 UTC

AOS-10 network devices can be taken over remotely without a login

A flaw in the AOS-10 software lets an attacker send specially crafted data to the device and run their own commands on it, with no password needed. The attacker could then fully control the device.

What happened

A buffer overflow in an affected interface of AOS-10 allows unauthenticated remote code execution as a privileged user on the underlying operating system.

Why it is dangerous: An attacker who reaches the vulnerable interface can gain complete control of the device, potentially using it to disrupt or spy on the network it serves. Any reachable AOS-10 device is at risk.

Are you affected?

You are affected if you run an AOS-10 device with the vulnerable interface reachable from a network the attacker can access.

What to do

  1. Check the vendor advisory for the list of affected AOS-10 versions and the fixed release.
  2. Update AOS-10 to the fixed version as soon as it is available.
  3. Restrict access to the affected management interface to trusted networks until patched.
