CriticalVulnerabilityCVE-2026-82104updated 30 Oct 2026, 12:08 UTC

Teltonika router firmware lets anyone without login run system commands

Attackers who can reach the device over the network can skip the login check and make it run commands on the device itself. That can let them take over the router or switch.

How the attack works simplified

  1. 1AttackerSends direct request without logging in
  2. 2Device APICalls internal LUA functions directly
  3. 3Validation skippedNormal checks in API flow are bypassed
  4. 4Command runOperating system command executes on device
  5. ResultAttacker controls the router or switch

What happened

Teltonika RUTOS (7.22 to 7.24.2) and TSWOS (1.9 to 1.10) expose LUA functions that can be called directly by unauthenticated users, bypassing validation normally applied in API flows, leading to OS command execution.

Why it is dangerous: A successful attacker gets control of the device, which can expose the internal network behind it, its traffic, and any connected systems. Businesses and industrial sites using these routers and switches are at highest risk.

Are you affected?

You are affected if you run Teltonika RUTOS firmware 7.22 through 7.24.2 on RUT, RUTX, RUTM, RUTC, ATRM, TAP, CAP, OXA, DAP, TRB, OTD or EBG devices, or TSWOS 1.9 through 1.10 on SWM or TSW devices.

RUTOS 7.22 through 7.24.2: RUT, RUTX, RUTM, RUTC, ATRM, TAP, CAP, OXA, DAP, TRB, OTD, EBG. TSWOS 1.9 through 1.10: SWM, TSW.

What to do

  1. Check the firmware version on each Teltonika device and identify any in the affected ranges.
  2. Restrict access to the device's web and API interfaces so they are not reachable from the internet or untrusted networks.
  3. Install the fixed firmware from Teltonika as soon as it is available, and verify the official advisory for the patched version.
