What happened

A flaw in the Human Workflow component of Oracle Business Process Management Suite (Oracle Fusion Middleware) allows unauthenticated attackers with HTTP network access to compromise the product, with full confidentiality, integrity and availability impact.

Why it is dangerous: A successful attacker could take over the Oracle BPM Suite server, reading, changing or disrupting the business processes and data it runs. Any organization exposing these versions to a network is at risk.

Are you affected?

You are affected if you run Oracle Business Process Management Suite 12.2.1.4.0 or 14.1.2.0.0 with the Human Workflow component reachable over HTTP.

Oracle Business Process Management Suite 12.2.1.4.0; Oracle Business Process Management Suite 14.1.2.0.0 (component: Human Workflow)

What to do

  1. Check whether your Oracle Business Process Management Suite runs version 12.2.1.4.0 or 14.1.2.0.0
  2. Restrict network access to the Human Workflow HTTP endpoints to trusted users and systems until a fix is applied
  3. Install the security update from Oracle's Critical Patch Update or the official advisory as soon as it is available
