CriticalVulnerabilityCVE-2026-91222updated 25 Oct 2026, 18:35 UTC

Oracle Business Process Management Suite can be fully taken over over the network

A weakness in Oracle's workflow software lets someone with a basic login reach it over the network and take control of it. Because it can spread to other systems, the damage could go well beyond this one product.

How the attack works simplified

  2. 2SOAP requestSent over the network to Human Workflow
  3. 3Workflow compromisedFlaw allows control of the product
  4. 4Connected systems hitScope change lets attack spread
  5. ResultAttacker takes over the suite

What happened

A flaw in the Human Workflow component of Oracle Business Process Management Suite (Oracle Fusion Middleware) can be exploited by a low-privileged attacker via SOAP over the network, leading to full takeover of the product, with scope change to other products.

Why it is dangerous: An attacker who can reach the service and has any low-privilege account could read, change, or disrupt business processes and data, and may move into connected systems. Organizations running this suite that expose its SOAP interface are at risk.

Are you affected?

You are affected if you run Oracle Business Process Management Suite 12.2.1.4.0 or 14.1.2.0.0 with the Human Workflow component reachable over the network via SOAP.

Oracle Business Process Management Suite 12.2.1.4.0; 14.1.2.0.0 (Human Workflow component)

What to do

  1. Check whether Oracle Business Process Management Suite 12.2.1.4.0 or 14.1.2.0.0 is in use, especially with Human Workflow exposed
  2. Restrict network access to the Human Workflow SOAP endpoints to trusted hosts only
  3. Apply the security update from Oracle's Critical Patch Update or security advisory as soon as it is available
  4. Review accounts with low-privilege access and remove any that are unnecessary
